Tesla Model 3: The 35,000$ Batmobile

Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced their latest car, the Model 3 at their design studio in Hawthorne, California.

On the 2nd of August, 2006, Elon Musk wrote a blog post entitled "The Secret Tesla Motors Master Plan (just between you and me)" in which he famously concluded by writing,

"So, in short, the master plan is:
Build sports car
Use that money to build an affordable car
Use that money to build an even more affordable car
While doing above, also provide zero emission electric power generation options
Don't tell anyone."

The recently announced Model 3 is the 3rd of the "Master Plan" which is priced at 35,000$ and is claimed to deliver at least 215 miles of range before you need to find a Tesla Supercharger, which by the end of 2017, will be increased to 7200.

Tesla has seen more than 130,000 preorders with a promise of delivery starting by the end of 2017. The base model of the Model 3 will go from 0 - 60 mph in 6 seconds with the higher models going much faster.

There will be 2 versions available of the Tesla Model 3: The rear wheel drive and the all wheel drive.
A 15 inch landscape touchscreen along with autopilot and standard safety features will be included.

Musk is "fairly confident" that deliveries will begin by the end of 2017, and "you will not be able to buy a better car for $35,000, even with no options." And it will be one of the safest cars in the world, according to Musk.
